History of Broken Ceylon Tea
English name: Ceylon tea
Ceylon tea is produced in Sri Lanka (formerly called Ceylon) and is one of the most famous types of tea in the world. Tea production in Sri Lanka dates back to the 19th century, when the British colonialists began tea cultivation on the island. Before that, this region mainly produced coffee, but after various diseases threatened the coffee crops, tea replaced it. Ceylon tea is made from the Camellia sinensis plant, the same plant used to produce black, green, white, and oolong teas. The differences in taste and characteristics of Ceylon tea are due to the climatic and geographical conditions of the area where it is cultivated in Sri Lanka.
